Last week the council met for the Annual Meeting, where the councillors reviewed and approved the year’s accounts and were formally sworn into the parish council following May’s local elections. Minutes of the meeting shall be published shortly on the Agendas & Minutes page.

If less than 10 people express an interest in the vacancy, the council will hold interviews directly at July’s meeting to elect a councillor by co-option.

On Tuesday 28th May, our council will meet to formally elect Arthington Parish’s new councillors as part of the Annual Meeting. The usual proceedings will commence after this at 7.30pm.

All residents are welcome to attend to learn about local matters, raise any questions they may have, or to simply meet the councillors who work to make our community better.

This year’s Spring Clean takes place on Saturday, 13th April.

Volunteers will join our councillors in the Village Hall car park at 10am to collect bags, litter pickers and high visibility jackets, and start making the village a tidier place.

Anyone that takes part is welcome to go back to the Village Hall at 12pm for refreshments as a thank you for their work.
